My journey so far………………
I have worked in the equine industry for over 30 years. During this period, I have gained extensive knowledge and competed at International level Eventing. This resulted in me competing at Badminton Horse Trials 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996 and Burghley International Horse Trials 1993, 1994 and 1995.
I am a fully qualified and Accredited Professional Coach and Intermediate Instructor for the British Horse Society, which involves assessing and training at all levels. My career to date has enabled me to gain broad extensive experience across the equine industry.
I have active roles and involvement within the racing industry, having trained and raced my own point to point horse. I worked in New Zealand as a track work rider and producer of young horses for Laurie Laxon the year they won the Melbourne Cup with Empire Rose.
I have also been lucky enough to have in an international endurance horse to train and I worked at the 2010 – World Equestrian Games in Kentucky as a Photographer for the FEI, Kentucky Horse Park experiencing the level of performance and recovery of top endurance horses.
I was coaching a little horse a week before it was due to go to Badminton Grass Routes and she sounded a little noisy in her wind. It was nicknamed super cob and I knew we needed to give it the best chance to get there in peak fitness. The question was how could we help her so close to the event, naturally, non invasive and drug free to comply by the regulations.
My mind told me salt as a good friend had used Salt Therapy for his breathing problems and he had life changing results.
So, research was done and yes I learned Salt Therapy had been documented since 1843 and was being used very successfully in humans. I tried to work out a way that the salt could be administered to a horse and be most effective. One thing led to another and I was told of the Newmarket Equine Salt Therapy System. So I phoned Darrell and that’s were my story began.
Oh and…… Although I am used to four legs, in my younger days in 2000 I ran the London Marathon. In 2005 completed the Three Peak Challenge and then in 2006 I cycled Lands End to John O Groats!
